this is my obsession

so i'm sitting here drinking horizon organic milk while shopping ebay for merrell, Ugg & Hunter shoes. can we say new obsession? to all of the above. yes, even the milk. if you haven't tasted milk from this red, white, & blue carton with a cow logo, you have got to get some! it's de-lish! :)

my shoe obsession started saturday while browsing shoes on ebay (ugg in general) then today, some out of town christmas company said they'd buy me a pair of shoes (if we could get a real bargain) so i'm ebaying it up! i need some rain boots, hence Hunter, but i can't help but stop and drool over the Merrell & UGG flats. i have secretly had a love affair with my roomies Merrell's (yay for same size feet!) and don't want to give them back. But i will. Mind you.

besides my current shoe & milk obsession, i've become addicted to bare minerals makeup. My mom & aunt gave me a bareminerals starter kit for christmas! (YAY!!!!!!!!!) i was SO excited! (obviously..) i have been using my roomies (surprise?!) bare minerals for the

past few months. Yes, were even the same skin tone. can we say perfect roomies? yes you may! cause we are!

she has good taste, and i admire it :) shout out to Reedy! LYC!

anyways.. back to obsessions...

i do believe those are the most current ones. but don't fret, i'll keep you informed as new ones develop, which we know they will.

P.S. one other obsession=Obsidian!! Dark roast coffee from Caribou Coffee!! It's dark but not bitter, which is hard to find. Yummy!

your cooler than the flip side of my pillow (pt. 1)

so i got inspired by the movie Julie & Julia to blog. This movie comes highly recommended. by me. If you haven't seen the movie, one of the main characters blogs as she cooks her way through a Julia Child cookbook. So, upon seeing that, i decided that i would blog. I like typing over writing these days. Most all documents in school are required to be typed, so i guess i've formed a habit. it's almost as addictive as Facebook. keyword-almost. FB is kind of over rated these days. i guess the hype for me has worn off. sure i like telling everyone what's on my mind, weekly, sometimes daily but i get tired of the news feed filling up with "jake is in the living room. jake has moved to the kitchen. jake just ate a sandwhich. jake is full. jake is lame." Seriously? who needs to know what "jake" is doing every 10 minutes? much less daily. Some days, sure, i like to update twice daily, but it's annoying even to me.

enough about facebook.

i re-watched Because i said so again tonight. what a cute movie. i decided that i love Mandy Moore. She is an incredible singer & actress.

my goal is to blog once daily. if not at least daily, then a few times a week. i feel that getting out my thoughts, even if they seem pointless, will help me to be more relaxed overall. maybe i'm wrong, i'll let you know.

so maybe by now, you've noticed my blog title. "Local ramblings of a college student". Are you wondering why i didn't name it, Ramblings of a local college student? maybe you have given a second thought to it. maybe not. i'm not sure why i named it what that, i just did. Don't ask me why.

Ok, so an hour later...i'm back. nothing like cheese sauce & corn chips for a evening snack. i must say, i'm in a much better mood now. when i got home from work i wasn't in the best of moods. no reason in particular. just because...

whoops?

so, my last blog on here has somehow disappeared...so, i guess it's time for a fresh start.

it's almost a new year, which is hard to believe. where has 2009 gone? it has brought such joy but many disappointments as well. death as well as life.

pictured is my newest nephew, Jude. he was born Oct 15th.

i'm re-watching the movie Fireproof right now, and it's an amazing movie. i've seen it before, but it's been over a year, and i had forgotten what a good movie it is. it's powerful. even though i'm not married, there are still so many lessons to learn within it. patience, selflessness, love, honesty. just to name a few qualities the movie portrays.

i know i could certainly use more of those qualities in my life.
